skhul and bownz have known each other long enough that the story of how they met has been retold past the point of accuracy by both of them, in different directions. What follows is the version they can currently both sit through.

Two kids in the same orbit, both already making things nobody asked for.

First recording made on borrowed equipment in a room with bad plumbing and good reverb. Kept. Never played to anyone.

A long gap, spent separately, learning the parts of this that cannot be learned together.

The name arrives. Not a place a billion light years away — a name for all of it, all the space there is, and for what a person can find out about themselves inside it.
